Experimental Details
We use a Cryogenic Scanning Probe Microscope (Omicron) in connection with a liquid Helium cooled cryostat (Janis). The cryostat is used for the cooling of the scanning tunneling microscope (STM) to a temperature as low as 7 K, and it also contains superconducting magnets for STM measurements in fields of up to 8 T. The microscope is enclosed in a sound-proof cabin to reduce the interference of acoustic noise with the measurements.
